Gavin's 9!

Gavin wanted a Lego birthday party.  His party was on the 18th.  This cake was not too hard to make but with a hand with severe carpol tunnel it sucked to do!!  It definetly looks like a beginner made it but I really don't think the kids cared as long as they got to chow on it!

All the kids at his party.  Yes, I was pretty much out of my mind to have a million kids over for a B-day party being 4 weeks from delivery but we do birthday parties for the kids every other year and this happens to be the year to do it.  I will be doing one for Makayla in 2 weeks, with a 3 week old newborn.  Fun stuff.
I took cookies to Gavin's class for his birthday.  I got a silly birthday hat for him to wear.

Chloe and Makayla gave him a lego set on his actual birthday, the 20th.  We gave him a new bike but I cannot find the pics of it.  I am sure I took some....I blame it on prego brain!
Happy Birthday Gavin.  We love you!

PAR-TAY at Thanksgiving Point!

Mark is officially done with school!!  HOORAY!!!  So he took 3 days off work and we took the kids down to Thanksgiving Point for a little get-away for a night.  This is at the Garden's.
We ended up renting a golf cart, with 3 miles of pathways and no stroller we thought it might be a good idea.  Plus I really liked the idea since I am prone to back aches easily as I get larger and larger!!  It was worth the $$$ to get it the kids thought it was totally awesome!

I didn't really think there would be much flowers this late in the season.  That will tell ya how big of a master gardener I am.

There is over 55 acres of gardens here.  I highly recommend it.

Here are the kids feeding the fish.  We saw 2 water snakes and 4 frogs in this pond.

It was a serious feeding frenzy, we know our .25 went to good use!
Makayla is a poser!!!  She does this most times when we take a pic of her unless we tell her not to.  What a beauty she is!!

Chloe would not back up to this fence because the water was spraying through it.  Finally I told her to just hang on to the fence.  You can see in her smile her trepidation!

This is not the whole pic of the waterfall but it is the biggest man made waterfall in North America

This is at the Children's Discovery Garden's

We also went to Farm Country where the kids rode horses and fed chickens, goats, and llama's.  Afterwards we went to the Museum of Ancient Life.

The kids had a blast...in fact Gavin wants to have his birthday party there.  Might be a little far....
We then met our family at Joe's Crab Shack, Mark's fav restaurant to celebrate his Master's with them.

Gavin ordered a crab steampot...look at the determination cracking that shell.  Makayla had to have a bib also, you never know how messy Mac n Cheese can be.

School starts...Is Makayla really starting school?

Gavin started 3rd grade and Makayla started Kindergarten on August 11th.
I can't believe Makayla is in Kindergarten.  I remember thinking Gavin would be in 3rd grade when Makayla finally went to school and it seems like that was just yesterday.  I'm excited for her!

Makayla's teacher is Mrs. Adams, she is the perfect kindergarten teacher, her way of speaking with them is so on their level and she sings to them always.  Makayla likes her a lot.  She is excited to learn to read.

Here she is sitting at the Yellow table.
Gavin's teacher is Mrs. Tatro.  He thinks that she is very nice and patient.  He has 3 friends in his class from second grade Boston, Korbyn, and Taylor.  His new friends in his class are Conner, Connor (yes, 2 Conner's) and Logan.  He is excited about doing the Scientist of the Week, where he has to bring a science experiement to class and teach them about it.
Here is Gavin at his desk.  He sits in between two girls and is totally not thrilled with it.  He says it's boring!  Hmmm get a little older son!  :)

Gavin gets braces

He was so excited to get braces.  The day before they called to remind us of the appoint-ment and afterwards he had to call all his grandma's and relay the news.  This is the before pic.

This was so hilarious.  Before the braces went on he kept sticking his tongue out.  What a comic.  He only has braces on the front four teeth.  He has such large spaces between his teeth that they want to make some room for his permanent teeth to come in.  He will have them for 10 months.

They also had to put this appliance in his mouth to correct his crossbite.  There is a little key that we have to put in a little hole and move it backward everyday.  It will push those teeth outward.  This is the part he hates.  He keeps saying I like the braces but I hate this thing in the top of my mouth.  Poor kids they get this from their mom.  I had an underbite, Makayla has one also and Chloe did have one but as I was talking to the Ortho yesterday he said she probably corrected it herself by sucking her thumb.  Lucky girl.

He'll have to watch it when he goes through the metal detectors.  He certainly has a mouth full of metal.  He really does not feel here how he looks.  Here's to you Metal Mouth!!!  :)

cockwat miwlk (translation: chocolate milk)

I had just bought Makayla and Chloe some playdough, so left them to play and went and sat down on the couch to read my book (which was totally STUPID and I only finished it to make sure they got together at the end.  Well who know's if they did.....I hate it when they leave a story unfinished.)  Anyways, I thought she was still up at the counter playing.  Well lo and behold she walks around the corner of the couch and I see this....

She had got into the Nesquick choco milk mix and as you can see was eating it from head to toe.  It was all over the pantry shelf and floor.  I was mad at first, but thought what a great photo that would be so I chilled and laughed.  Here she is in the bathtub with chocolate washing down the drain.  Thanks for the laugh Chloe!

We're having a baby!

October 29th is the due date.  Which is FOREVER away!  Not sure there is even a month named October is there?  I just hit my halfway mark this last Friday....YAY!  We are having a boy.  By the time he gets here it will be 9 years since I've had a baby boy so I am really excited.
I do have a little more faith in my intuition now.  I swore up and down Chloe was a boy.  (I knew Gavin was a boy when I was a senior in high school, and I knew Makayla was a girl after I had Gavin.)  When the doc told me girl for Chloe I pretty much went into a mini depression because my intuition failed me.  Had I not ever had the amazing intuition I always thought I did?  Anyhow I figured that Chloe shoved him out of the way on the way down so that she could get here, otherwise there probably would not have been a fourth. I realize now how much she needed to be in our family.   So here he comes finally to complete us!  Maybe, if the day ever comes.....

Makayla's Preschool graduation.

Makayla graduated from preschool (for the second time actually) on May 13th.  We are so excited that she will be going to kindergarten this year.  She cannot wait.

Here she is strangling some unknown girl while she should be singing.

Grandma and Grandpa Geary came.
This is Haley her good buddy.  They were born on the same day 2 hours apart.  We met her parents in Germany and they now live in Syracuse as well.

He said I would have a splint!!

I went back to the surgeon who sewed up my nerve today to get my stitches out and get a splint on, that I would have to wear for another week. He kept saying cast when he was talking with me. I didn't say anything cuz I thought maybe he meant a splint. He had told me I was getting a splint twice! Then after the nurse sent me through the roof taking my stitches out she asked me what color cast I wanted. Huh are you kidding me? I was looking so forward to having some use of my other fingers!! I do have one finger out which is good although it has not returned yet to normal functionality. And it looks like a snake shedding it's skin, sick! Good thing I only have to have this on for a week, then I have to start therapy. What a mess I have made of myself. If anybody would have told me moving would have caused such a domino effect in my life for the past year I would have stayed where I was!! I do miss my old house payment!!

One trip to the ER wasn't enough!!!

So in less than a year I have managed to cut myself twice on the same finger. I didn't think the first experience (scroll down to 4-09 post) was good enough so this time (last Wednesday) I went all out and severed a nerve and had emergency surgery. It takes forever to type so i will make it short and sweet...holding the avocado in my left hand I preceeded to "stab" the pit with my razor sharp knife (Mark sharpens them on a regular basis!) before I knew it the knife sliced through the seed, avocado and then my finger. It just about went all the way through my finger.
In a twisted sort of way I think the first one prepared me for the second one...because I was a lot less freaked out. Or maybe it was just because I felt no pain because my nerve was severed!! However, not having any other experience in a hospital besides my first attempt at cutting my finger off and the deliveries of my babies, having to get surgery was as scary as me without a bra on!! I have to say that if I had not had the best hubby there ever to rely on and Heavenly Father's presence through the whole thing I might have not made it through! How grateful I am to a loving Heavenly Father who will still be with me in a time of need, even though I am a serious punk to him!! So...enough typo's (think I got them all) here is the pic! Watch out this thing can be dangerous!....

I could be the "Freddy Cruger" of a horror movie with this hook! One more week then I get to wear a splint for a week. Yes, it ends about 3" past my finger tips!

New year, new resolutions....

Not that I am going to tell you them! I can say however that I have not broken one so far!! Yay me! I will tell you that although it's not a resolution that I do intend to keep this dumb blog up to date from now on. Give me a break I moved , lost my hair, lost a few other things and had a few mental breakdowns. Now were good as new and thought I would post our new family pic.
